   The explosion accident in the foundry of Angang Steel is affecting people's hearts.

    On the afternoon of February 21, the accident unit held a press conference on the current situation and treatment of the injured. Liu Yi, Director of the Medical Operation Management Department of Anshan Public Hospital, reported the basic situation and treatment of the injured.

    Liu Yi said that the "220" explosion accident currently caused 13 deaths and 17 injuries, 6 people were seriously injured, and 2 people burned 100% of their skin. Among them, 17 injured were male, aged between 20 and 51 years old, with burns as the mainstay. Since the early morning of the 21st, Anshan City has organized all the wounded to enter the Anshan Hospital, the First Affiliated Hospital of China Medical University.

      The media quoted the on-site personnel as saying that they were casting a ring-shaped steel piece. The mold used was a sand type with an outer diameter of about 10 meters. The sand-shaped cavity was also filled with sand and stone, leaving a circle of molten steel in the middle to cast a ring. Unexpectedly, the casting is about to end, and when the last steel is about to be poured, the something inside the sand  explode right away.

On the same day, some industry insiders said in an interview that a blast accident occurred. "The main reason is that during the casting process of molten steel, the pouring speed is too fast, and the air in the sanding mold gathers a lot to cause an explosion."

A company with many years of experience said that castings are poured to the end of the mold, which is the highest pressure in the mold. At this time, the operator should stay away from the mold and protect it. The accident exposed the problems in the management of the enterprise. "In the process of casting, the molten steel encountered a large humidity chamber or accumulated water, which was caused by human negligence. But I did not know the situation at the scene."

Earlier, some insiders had personal opinions on the management problems of Angang's huge loss of nearly 2.2 billion yuan. According to the 2011 results forecast, the net profit attributable to shareholders of listed companies for the whole year last year was -21.51 billion yuan, and the basic earnings per share was -0.297 yuan. In 2010, the net profit of Angang Steel also exceeded 2 billion yuan.

In addition to the general problems in the industry, the industry pointed out that the reason why Anshan Steel's performance is worse than its peers lies in management. "Because the pre-iron cost mainly reflects the raw materials, and the post-iron cost mainly reflects the management level and product quality, a considerable part of the increase in the cost of Angang is due to loopholes in the management (process cost link)," the media reported.
