According to the statistics of relevant departments, there are more than 100 robot manufacturing enterprises in Tianjin, with an annual output of more than 1,000 robots, and the industrial scale is as high as 3 billion yuan.

For example, Tianjin Zhitong Robot Co., Ltd, owns the intellectual property rights of“Robot Flexible Processing System"; Tianjin Fushun Industrial Equipment Co., Ltd provides design, manufacture, installation and commissioning for the automatic welding production line of automobile body-in-white; a number of robot development companies is standing out from the robot manufacturing company like Ruisi (Tianjin) Co., Ltd, developed for high-end CNC machine tool spindles, the construction automation equipment produced by Tianjin Zhugao Robot Technology Co., Ltd, the underwater robot developed by Tianjin Deep Blue Ocean Equipment Technology Co., Ltd, and the emerging and special robot developed by Taihua Hongye (Tianjin) Robot Technology Research Institute Co., Ltd.

　　Research institutes provide technical and talent protection for the Tianjin robot industry. In order to rapidly develop the robot industry, Tianjin Wuqing District and Harbin Institute of Technology have established the Tianjin R&D Center of Harbin Institute of Technology Robotics. Tianjin Dongli District has established the Tianjin Zhongke Intelligent Technology Research Institute and Tsinghua University together with the Institute of Automation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the School of Mechanical Engineering of Tsinghua University. And Tianjin's local research institutes are the first to go ahead, and realize the deep integration of production, teaching and research with robot manufacturing enterprises, and initially formed three robotics science parkobvious with gathering trends in Wuqing District, Economic and Technological Development Zone and Lingang Economic Zone. 

　　Tianjin robot application has a huge potential market. And Tianjin has a solid industrial base and 39 major categories in the existing industrial system are important applications for future robots. At present, more than half of the companies in Tianjin are using robots, especially in auto and parts companies, whose proportionhas already reached 91%. In addition, Tianjin's tens of millions of people and numerous public facilities have huge demand for service-oriented and anti-terrorism security robots. At the end of 2015, the number of robots in Tianjin was approximately 12,800 units with an average density of 40 units/10,000. It is estimated that the number of robots in Tianjin will reach 60,000 units, and the average density of use will reach 200 units/10,000 by 2020.

　　In order to pull the upstream and downstream extension of the robot industry chain and form a relatively complete robot industry system, Tianjin will strengthen the independent innovation capability of the robot industry by integrating innovation power, building high-end platforms, accelerating the transformation of scientific technological achievements, supporting existing robots, components and system integration enterprises to become stronger and bigger, cultivating a group of enterprises with competitive advantages in key links, key parts, and components, gradually forming a benign pattern of coordinated development of complete machines and supporting enterprises, focusing on promoting the construction of major projects and speeding up the Binhai New Area, accerlerating the construction of robot industry bases such as Wuqing District, and expanding the scale of industrial clusters to achieve a total output value of 12 billion yuan in the robot industry by 2020.
