How SMEs displace people with robot?

First, SMEs have become the trend of "machine substitution”

In recent years, smart manufacturing products all over the world have been in great development, and various smart manufacturing systems planning and pilot projects have been carried out and implemented on a large scale. The capital policy has helped both sides, and the “machine substitution” campaign has flourished throughout the country. However, under the background of rising labor costs and accelerating industrial transfer, the pressure on SMEs has increased sharply. How to make industrial robots enter more SMEs has become a difficult problem to be solved

Earlier, Zhejiang, Guangdong and other provinces announced the launch of the "machine substitution" program. Taking Guangdong as an example, the total investment in industrial technology reform will reach 943 billion yuan in the next three years, and will promote more than 1950 industrial enterprises to implement “machine substitution”. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology also issued the "Notice on Launching the 2015 Special Action Plan for Smart Manufacturing Pilot Demonstration" and decided to launch more than 30 smart manufacturing pilot demonstration projects this year.

However, the industry generally believes that "machine substitution" is not easy. In particular, the "machine substitution" should not be a simple machine instead of labor, but should be combined with industrial upgrading. For SMEs, it is more necessary to combine their own talents, funds, and needs.

          Second, cultivate and recruit talents

If you need to innovate technology, you will need the corresponding technical talent to complete the work. If there is no ready-made, then the decision makers should find a way to dig a high salary. The learning ability of talents is also very important because there must be a lot of equipments in the automated assembly shop. Only if the talents of the company have the ability to learn quickly can they get familiar with the system of the integrator as soon as possible.

   Third, clear responsible party

Integrators and end users are responsible for ensuring that the production process is correct. Integrators need to provide equipment that meets customer requirements and expert guidance as needed. It is the responsibility of the customer to provide the relevant information required for the production equipment. The integrator and the customer should cooperate in the process of production, installation and debugging. Usually the biggest problem with a project failure is either that the integrator's engineer is not doing it well, or that the customer's project manager is not providing the integrator with the necessary conditions. Therefore, seamless communication is the most important part of making a project

Fourth, choose a reliable system integrator

At present, the industrial automation integration industry has developed in the country for a few years, and there is no reliable level of integrator identification, therefore,we can not protect their choices based on these associations or official certification. So what kind of integrator is relatively reliable?

       1, the right size

Being a robotic system supplier is very important. Choose a large and complete robot supplier, such as domestic new pine, foreign abb, system integration and robot body, or choose a small and sophisticated robot supplier with only a few employees, such as UR and KMT. These system integrators have their own unique customer base. For example, some is based in Wuhan central market, some in East China, mainly in Asia, and some large suppliers will be oriented to Asia and even the world. Big does not necessarily mean better, and small does not mean that strength is not enough.

   2, professional field

A qualified integrator is integrated for industry applications. They are not only familiar with industrial robots, but also needing to understand the production standards, production requirements and production processes. A good robot company can't do a good robot system, but a integrator who can sell products to customers must be a one who can install robots, but not produce robots.

If you need a spray solution, don't contact an integrator producing laser applications. Then, it is easier for professional integrators specialized in one area to understand your needs and help you to reduce unnecessary screening.

Regardless of which industry they are targeting, a professional integrator will be happy to listen to your needs, and understand your00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 purpose in detail, then conduct a feasibility analysis of these goals to provide you with a budget range. Accurate communication and understanding are the two most critical factors in the project. You can determine the pros and cons of this integrator from the feasibility analysis provided by the integrator. PS: An excellent integrator will generally charge you upfront fees for the feasibility analysis.

The integrator must be completely unmistakable in understanding what the end customer is looking for and what level of program and cost they can accept.

   3. Professional engineering team and project management team

When contacting professional robotic system integrators, their professional technicians or sales will generally provide detailed engineering management and implementation details. They will listen to your needs, and suggest you conduct a feasibility analysis or trial production. You can incidentally learn the composition of the integrator's technical staff , seeing whether there are expert engineers with many years of work experience, or a large number of young, newly graduated students.

You should ask them about some training, and find out whether they only offer training for their products or for your system; you should also investigate where to train and whether all of training projects should be held in their factory or your factory. Remember, if the location of your factory is very far from the supplier, travel and accommodation, the costs will far exceed the cost of training.

Perhaps it is of great importance to ask them whether they will provide a series of processes for developing their system applications based on current system application engineering. If they just give you a blank piece of paper, you should quickly book a return ticket and go to another supplier. Cognitive training and some methods of memorizing are only applicable to art and music. After such a training, people can't do many things. If your company has a training department or a training specialist, ask them to evaluate the supplier's training manual and training course to ensure that the training is based on the current application. If you don't, your money will be lost. Investing some unrealistic training is absolutely impossible to get any return. The relevant technical support staff of your company must be able to understand and operate this system.

   4, professional documentation

Professional robotic system integrators generally have their standard products, as well as technical documentation for their standard products. They usually produce independent technical documentation for different customers. If they are foreign integrators, they will also provide translation documents, of course, this part may be cost.

   5. Committed spare parts

Although the stability of industrial robots has grown considerably in recent years, they are still machines. No one in the world has ever invented a perpetual motion machine or a machine that will never wear out, so your robot will still have some troubles.

Another important issue is that you must know if your supplier can provide you with the spare parts you need before you decide to pay the money. There are a few questions you must know: are they repairing all the spare parts for the equipment on the same day when the problem occurs? Are there spare parts supply distributors in your company's area? Are they willing to ship these spare parts to you? Can their spare parts be purchased? Do they provide repair or exchange of spare parts, or you can only purchase new spare parts? If this supplier can't give you a satisfactory answer, find other suppliers.

   6, professional services

If your company is a small and medium-sized business, training a system of technical attendants is a huge expense, which means that most of the problems may still depend on your suppliers.

A professional system integrator will have a dedicated service department to deal with the after-sales service. They typically provide phone support, email support, or their devices are equipped with remote support.

   7, clear warranty

Finally, you need to understand the relevant warranty issues. This is probably a more controversial issue when you talk to suppliers. One of the first things that must be clarified is the time limit for the warranty they provide, 90-day warranty, one-year warranty, or even longer. Then you have to ask them if the warranty is based on three shifts, whoes operation is five days, six days or a week. Next, you have to understand the limited time of the warranty.

"Machine substitution" also needs to be realistic, and large enterprises with strong strength, then you can invest more money in equipment intelligence and automation. Small and medium-sized enterprises with weaker strength can start from purchasing additional equipment, gradually update or renovate and improve the level of equipment intelligence and automation, "an entrepreneur suggested.

"Thousands of households will be replaced by old ones." At present, the substitution of machines for small and medium-sized enterprises in China is in the first begining. As long as we work together to form a synergy, the prospects are worth looking forward to.
